I was very excited to spend all my time with my family. With the exception of studying for the CSET, my family was my priority. Instead of going into too much details, I thought I would just post pictures of what our summer looked like. I go back to work on Wednesday and I am thankful for the past 7 weeks. Thank you Jamie, Jack, Katie, and Charlie. You made my summer wonderful. I love you guys!

There were 15 of us; 8 adults and 7 kiddos. It was a blast. I really enjoyed the time with everyone. We will post pictures on www.millettkids.com some time this week. On Sunday, we went to Faith Community Church. This is the church that Jamie and I called our home church for 7 years. SEVEN YEARS! While it was great to see so many old friends, what struck me the most was how influential our time at FCC was. A flood of memories kept coming to mind as I sat in Sunday school. This was where I learned to ask questions about a text and think critically instead of just passively reading. This was also where I learned from godly families about the importance of family worship. This was where I served along with my future wife. This was where I learned about the “enemy within”. This was where I learned that worship is not about instruments, but about the heart and the content. This was where I learned about parenting and hospitality. This was where I learned the difference between teaching and preaching. This was where I learned about the importance of the local church.
While we are not there any longer, I am thankful for the faithfulness of the leadership and body at FCC Oxnard. Those seven years were, as you can see, very special to Jamie and I. If you happen to be vacationing in Ventura over a weekend, I highly suggest you visit the little church on 7th and D Street in Oxnard. You will be blessed.
